FREquently asked questions

  • US LLCs are world renowned for being the complete package, offering liability protection, tax advantages, access US banking/ payment processors, and access to global markets.

  • Both Delaware and Wyoming offers business-friendly laws, strong legal protections, and privacy for owners. It’s ideal for businesses of all sizes.

  • No, US LLCs can be set up from anywhere. You don’t have to live in the US, or travel there. You certainly do not need US citizenship.

  • LLCs are easier to set up and quick to manage. Additionally, LLCs are flow through entities, meaning you don’t have to pay taxes on them.

Corporations are a lot more complex, and should not be set up without a lawyer. But this also comes with more power. If you plan on building a scalable business, you should consider a corporation instead.

  • No, but you’ll need to set up a registered agent. Full details can be found in the guide.

  • With our guide, it will take about 3-4 hours of active time. The final time it will take depends on the jurisdiction.

Wyoming will issue your certificate right away, whereas Delaware will mail it out.

  • In Wyoming / Delaware, if you’re setting up an LLC yourself, it will cost between $150-$300.

  • Hiring a lawyer is not required. If all you want is a basic business structure (one owner, no investors), setting up your own LLC is not difficult, especially with our guide.

That being said, a lawyer can help ensure compliance and handles complex legal details.

  • Compared to a corporation, LLCs are not very scalable, as they cannot issue shares.

If you plan on building a business where you plan on taking on investors, or issuing stock options to employees, you may want to consider a corporation.

It is highly recommended to work with a lawyer for a corporation. Book a consultation with us to learn more.

  • While LLCs are passthrough entities, and often pay 0% taxes, this isn’t always the case.

Certain countries do not recognise the passthrough status of LLCs, and may tax your LLC as a corporation.

Do your own research, and consult with a professional if necessary.

  • We do not recommend online services like LegalZoom or Zen Business.

In addition to being unreliable, you’ll end up having to do most of the work yourself. There’s a ton of upsells, some of which are entirely unecessary.

If you’re paying for one of those platforms, might as well pay a little extra to hire a lawyer.
